Prologue of The Cave of Adventure

The fisherman was getting tired of watching for a gang of villains he didn’t believe were coming. Just as he was drifting off to sleep a noise woke him with a jump. It sounded like the sound of running feet and then someone dropping something. He looked around for the person or people that had made the noise but there was no one in sight. Then someone came out of the shadows but before the fisherman had a chance to have a good look a this strange newcomer, they pushed him over and he fell to the ground with a thump and was knocked out.

“Well well well,” said a man coming out of the shadows. “You were right Tom, he was watching and waiting for us tonight but we got him first and he will be very sorry,” he said raising his voice at the end.

Tom nudged him “shhhh” he whispered “Do you want everyone to wake-up, Fred?”

“Including him,” he said, nudging the fisherman with his toe.                                                                                    Fred apparently wasn’t listening to Tom.                             “Let’s get a move on before he wakes up,”

“So we’re going to leave him here?” asked Tom, unsure.

“Of course,” said Fred, scornfully. “We’ve got a full boat already,”                                                                            “Well what are we waiting for?” replied Tom “Let’s go”
